The Society for Anesthesia Education and Research (SAER) supports the mission of FAER through annual membership dues of $7,500. SAER is open to academic anesthesiology departments with an interest in supporting FAER. Annual dues are used to provide career development programs for medical students, residents, and anesthesiologists, as well as funding for research grants, including Mentored Research Training Grants, Research Fellowship Grants, and Research in Education Grants.

SAER membership operates on a quarterly membership basis. Institutions are considered members from the quarter membership payment is received through the end of the corresponding quarter the following year (one year / 12 months).

In addition to the SAER membership plaque and plates, recognition in FAER materials, and quarterly FAER e-communications, SAER members receive the following benefits:

• Resident Scholar Program (RSP): SAER members are invited to nominate a resident at their institution to participate in RSP. Participating residents are invited to attend the ASA ANESTHESIOLOGY® annual meeting, where they present research at a paper poster session during the FAER/eSAS: Day for New Researchers. • Academic Champions Program: SAER members are invited to nominate a FAER Academic Champion for their institution. This program strengthens the bonds between FAER and academic anesthesiology departments as well as increase awareness of FAER grants, programs, fundraising efforts, and accomplishments.
