Intersociety Relationships

In support of strengthening the visibility and voice of the specialty as a leader in the health care ecosystem, collaboration continued with our 53 component societies, 15 affiliated subspecialty societies, and 13 international societies.

  • The Pain Medicine Coalition, founded by ASA and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, continued to advocate for responsible, high-quality pain care, policy, education, and research for patients and professionals.

  • Approved the Society for Technology in Anesthesia as an affiliated subspecialty society of ASA.

  • Successfully executed the 2025 ASA Charitable Foundation Global Scholars Program with seven scholars representing Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, Ghana, and Zambia.

  • Finalized an agreement to host the first licensed “Best of the ANESTHESIOLOGY® Annual Meeting” event in India.

  • Signed new Memorandums of Understanding with the Latin American Confederation of Anesthesiology Societies and the Indian Society of Anesthesiologists.
