In 2025, the Strategic Revenue Growth (SRG) initiative adopted a more streamlined approach to project evaluation, product development, and resource deployment. The focus remained on advancing ASA’s mission by accelerating timelines, supporting innovation, and strengthening offerings that provide meaningful value to members, practices, and the specialty.
Coding and Billing Portfolio Enhancements:
SRG continued its assessment of ASA’s Coding and Billing portfolio to evaluate opportunities for enhanced tools that support anesthesiologists, coders, and practice leaders. The initiative is prioritizing digitization and automation to promote more accurate, efficient, and compliant coding processes—key elements in supporting high-quality clinical documentation and appropriate payment. As part of this work, ASA established a collaboration with Hank.AI to explore technologies that may improve accuracy and reduce administrative burden. This effort is currently in pilot with multiple organizations.
Improved Outreach and Engagement Process:
SRG implemented a more structured and transparent outreach and engagement process for organizations utilizing our coding and billing resources. This refined approach has improved clarity for members and partners, strengthened alignment with practice needs, contributed to more accurate reporting, and continued growth.
Optimal Resources in Anesthesia Care (ORAC):
In partnership with the Committee on Quality Management & Departmental Administration (QMDA), SRG supported the launch of the digital assessment platform for the Optimal Resources in Anesthesia Care program. Two hospital-based pilot sites are actively using the platform, alongside a newly developed guideline preparation document and a facility submission form. Pilot outcomes and a formal program launch are anticipated in 2026, positioning ORAC to become a valuable tool for advancing anesthesia department quality and operational excellence.
