Thank you for serving as a workshop moderator at ANESTHESIOLOGY 2026. This page outlines key responsibilities, policies, and timelines to help you prepare for a successful Hands-on Workshop in San Diego.
Equipment requests & logistics — requests due April 30, 2026
Moderators are responsible for reviewing and confirming detailed equipment needs for their workshop. All equipment requests should include:
All additional equipment requests or corrections must be submitted by April 30, 2026. Requests received after this deadline may not be fulfilled.
Important policy notice:
Per ACCME regulations, moderators and faculty must not contact vendors directly. ASA must serve as the sole intermediary for all equipment requests.
Faculty disclosures — due May 1, 2026
All workshop faculty must complete required financial disclosures in advance of the meeting to comply with ACCME regulations. Moderators may be asked to assist ASA staff in securing disclosures or additional contact information for faculty members who are unresponsive.
Failure to complete disclosures may result in a faculty member being removed from the session or CME being removed from the workshop.
Workshop structure & pre-work — materials due August 30, 2026
Workshops at ANESTHESIOLOGY 2026 are designed to be fully hands-on. All didactic instructions should be provided as pre-work and not delivered live during the workshop.
If your workshop includes pre-work materials, all content must be submitted to ASA staff by August 30, 2026. Materials will be distributed to attendees prior to the meeting.
Shipping personal equipment
If any faculty will be shipping personal equipment for use in the workshop, they must provide shipment tracking details to ASA staff. ASA will not ship equipment back after the meeting; faculty are responsible for arranging return shipping.
Session updates and communication
Moderators should promptly notify ASA staff of any changes to the faculty roster.
Important policy reminder: ACCME buying and selling standards
Promotional or sales discussions are strictly prohibited in workshops. If the discussion is not about how, why, or when to use a tool or technique, it may be considered selling and is not permitted. Workshop moderators are expected to serve as a safeguard for compliance and should immediately notify ASA staff if any potential violations are observed.
If you have questions about moderator responsibilities or workshop logistics, please contact the ASA education team at annmtg@asahq.org or Kaitlyn Whilden at K.Whilden@asahq.org.
