The Medical Student Component Crew System (MSCCS) is a micro volunteering opportunity for medical students to develop ideas and contribute to projects of interest within the Medical Student community of ASA and ASA’s partner organizations.
Applications for the 2027 Crew System will open in late November 2026.
Eligibility
All crew members and crew leads must be current medical student members of ASA.
Term Limits
For 2026, The anticipated term start date is Monday, January 5, 2026 and the term end date is Monday, October 19, 2026.
Crew Members
Crew members serve for a one-year term.
Medical Student Members may only serve on up to two (2) crews per term. Medical Student Members may only serve as Crew Lead on one (1) crew per term. Crews are expected to meet a minimum of two (2) times per year annually.
Crew Members may be re-elected for multiple terms on the same crew but may not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms, unless their third term is as a Crew Lead.
Crew Leads
Crew Leads are expected to meet at least monthly to check in with Lead Officers for the duration of their term.
Crew Leads may be re-elected for multiple terms, but may not serve for more than two (2) consecutive terms.

Possible Project Topics:
