
Amy C. Robertson, MD, MMHC, Editor-in-Chief, is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs at Vanderbilt Health. She earned an MD from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed an internship at Aurora Health Care followed by a residency in anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She also earned a Masters of Management in Health Care from Vanderbilt Business School. Dr. Robertson's clinical expertise is trauma and liver transplant anesthesia. Recent publications have focused on medical education, staffing for anesthesiologists, compliance with performance metrics, and operating room efficiency. She is proud to serve as Editor-in-Chief for the American Society of Anesthesiologists Summaries of Emerging Evidence program.

Neil A. Hanson, MD, Medical Editor, is a Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota. He completed residency training at Duke University and a fellowship in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain at Virginia Mason Medical Center. Both his clinical research and administrative positions are focused on acute perioperative medicine.

Alyssa Brzenski, MD, FASA, is a pediatric anesthesiologist at the University of California San Diego and Rady Children’s Hospital. At the University of California San Diego, Dr. Brzenski serves as the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology as well as the Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs.

“Jason” Sung Chi, MD, is the Director of Cardiac Anesthesia at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System and is a Clinical Assistant Professor (Affiliated) in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University. Originally from Chicago, he completed his anesthesia residency and cardiac anesthesia fellowship at the University of Chicago. He is a volunteer alum of Doctors Without Borders, and his clinical interests include medical malpractice, nerve block techniques for cardiac surgery, and resident education.

John R. Coleman, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, he completed medical school at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Following Anesthesiology residency training at Virginia Mason in Seattle, WA, he completed advanced training in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain at the University of Virginia. His published works have primarily focused on the treatment of acute perioperative pain.

Kristyn Ingram, MD, FASA, is a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist who completed residency in 2011 at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio and fellowship in 2012 at UT Southwestern. She is active in anesthesia with positions including Texas Society of Anesthesiologists District 1 Director, Chair of the TSA-PAC Board, American Society of Anesthesiologists Summaries of Emerging Evidence Editor, and Chair of the ASA Credentials Committee. As a community member she participates in the El Paso Symphony Orchestra Tocando board, Planned Parenthood Community Board, Coronado High School and Murphree Middle School Band Booster Boards, and plays in the UTEP Flautistas flute choir. She is also a co-owner of El Paso’s first cat café, Sun City Kitty, LLC. She is passionate about education and healthcare equity.

Kelly Ivins-O’Keefe, MD, FASA, is an active-duty critical care anesthesiologist at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research Burn Center. She received her BA from Princeton University and MD from the Uniformed Services University prior to completing residency in anesthesiology at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium and fellowship in critical care medicine at Duke University. She is completing a Master of Science in Bioethics at Harvard Medical School. Her clinical and academic interests include burn anesthesiology, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and ethics.
Aaron N. Primm, MD, FASA, is an assistant professor of anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Care & Pain Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he serves as the director of anesthesia for endoscopy and course director for anesthesiology grand rounds. In addition to his clinical and research interests, Dr. Primm is focused on resident education in non-operating room anesthesia (NORA), perioperative management, and financial literacy.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Primm received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed an anesthesiology residency at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he is now an assistant professor. In his daily clinical practice, Dr. Primm cares for patients undergoing advanced endoscopic procedures and serves as the daily operations coordinator for perioperative anesthesia services. In addition to several committees, he serves as an editor for the ASA’s Summaries of Emerging Evidence (SEE) editorial board.

Naileshni S. Singh, MD, is a pain medicine interventionalist who trained at Stanford’s School of Medicine and completed an anesthesiology residency (chief resident) and pain medicine fellowship at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. She is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine expert who offers a variety of interventional and advanced pain procedures for a diverse array of patients. Dr. Singh works within the UCD Division of Pain Medicine, where her time is divided between direct inpatient and outpatient care, teaching, administrative duties, and research. She is a former pain medicine fellowship director and serves currently as the Director of Education for the Division. She recently completed her last term as the pain medicine thread leader for the School of Medicine at UC Davis, where she was responsible for the four years of medical education in pain management. Her research interests are in interventional pain medicine, neuromodulation, simulation, virtual reality, healthy policy, equity, and competency based medical education, which has resulted in national and regional presentations, winning posters, and publications in peer-reviewed journals. She serves on the California Society of Anesthesiology’s (CSA) Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee as chair. Dr. Singh is also an editor and writer for organizations that govern the dual specialties of anesthesiology and pain medicine (the American Board of Anesthesiology [ABA] and the American Society of Anesthesiologists [ASA]). She is a recipient (2024) of the ASA’s Distinguished Educator in Anesthesiology Award.

Alex T. Suginaka, DO, currently resides in Wausau, WI, practicing with Central Wisconsin Anesthesiology. He became involved with SEE towards the end of residency and has been a question writer since 2019. He has subsequently served on the editorial board for the past year. Dr. Suginaka's clinical interests include cardiothoracic anesthesia, critical care medicine, and regional anesthesia. He finds it rewarding to help deliver the latest evidence in an approachable, digestible manner to those practicing in the community. When he's not reading or writing, you’ll likely find Dr. Suginaka on his bicycle, skis, or attempting to make his two daughters laugh.
