Summaries of Emerging Evidence (SEE) has been keeping anesthesiologists informed for more than 40 years by highlighting emerging scientific knowledge and demonstrating how new research can influence and improve clinical practice, all while serving as a valuable source of continuing medical education (CME) credit. SEE is a self-study continuing education program comprising two issues per year, published in January and July, with each issue containing 100 multiple-choice items made up of a question, answer choices, a detailed discussion explaining both correct and incorrect responses, and supporting references.
For every edition, members of the editorial board review more than 30 international medical journals to select the most relevant articles spanning clinical anesthesia, critical care, pain management, pharmacology, and more, which are then distilled into impactful items. Each issue offers up to 30 CME credits. On average, learners spend 15–20 minutes per item, for a total of approximately 30 hours to complete the course. SEE is available in either a printed booklet or an electronic format that includes access to a mobile-ready online platform as well as the ASA® My Learning app for iOS and Android.
