Lisa P. Solomon, DO, FASA

Dr. Lisa P. Solomon is a nationally published anesthesiologist and physician leader with extensive experience in academic medicine, quality improvement, and departmental leadership. She serves as Chair of the Department of Anesthesia at UW Northern Illinois where she helped expand clinical services, led quality and peer review initiatives, and supported faculty development and fiscal oversight.

Dr. Solomon has held multiple leadership roles across quality, credentialing, peer review, and medical executive committees. She is actively involved in multidisciplinary care coordination for high-risk obstetric patients and is a nationally recognized speaker and author in anesthesiology, with numerous publications and presentations for the American Society of Anesthesiologists focused on leadership, mentorship, and professional development.

Christopher A. Troianos, MD, FASE, FASA

Christopher A. Troianos, MD, FASE, FASA, is professor and chair of the Anesthesiology Institute of the Cleveland Clinic and Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Troianos has earned a national and international reputation as a cardiac anesthesiologist and echocardiographer. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, three textbooks including the most recent edition of Perioperative & Critical Care Echocardiography, and has been an invited speaker to over 240 national and international scientific educational conferences.

Dr. Troianos earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Carnegie-Mellon University and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Troianos completed his anesthesiology residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, and a cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a past president of the SCA, and currently serves as the president for the National Board of Echocardiography. He is also the chair of the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ section of professional practice.

Brooke E. Trainer, MD, FASA

Brooke E. Trainer, MD, FASA, remains devoted to her fellow Veterans and maintains her full-time status as an anesthesiologist, acute pain physician, and critical care medicine Intensivist at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System in Richmond VA. She is also an assistant professor of anesthesiology at Virginia Commonwealth University where she works as a critical care intensivist in the liver transplant and surgical trauma burn ICU. Most recently, Dr. Trainer was recognized for her contributions and interest in simulation education and was granted a national faculty position with the VHA Simulation Learning Education and Research Network (SimLEARN) Division.

Dr. Trainer received her doctor of medicine from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, Miami, FL, completed her anesthesia residency at Yale New Haven Medical Center in Connecticut, and fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. She is a US Air Force veteran, having served as an anesthesiologist at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany and director for the Critical Care Air Transport Teams (CCATT). She deployed in 2012, '13, and '14 to Afghanistan from Germany, flying wounded soldiers safely out of Afghanistan back to Germany, then home to the US. In 2012, she was recognized as the top-level physician of the European Medical Command and was awarded the US Air Force European Clinical Excellence Award. Dr. Trainer also holds several leadership positions in organized medicine, including her current role as the president for the Association of VA Anesthesiologists, and has published numerous book chapters in internationally recognized Anesthesia Textbooks.
