Center for Perioperative Medicine (CPMed) Roster

In August 2022, the ASA Board of Directors approved the concept of a Center for Perioperative Medicine (CPMed) to build on ASA’s experience with the Perioperative Surgical Home, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) and the growing interest in perioperative medicine across the specialty. A leadership council, chaired by Maxime Cannesson, MD, PhD was subsequently appointed. Other members of the leadership council are Dr. TJ Gan, Dr. David Hepner, Dr. Neeju Ravikant and Dr. Andy Rosenberg.

Since that time, the members of the CPMed have worked collaboratively to define their mission, vision, audience, definition of perioperative medicine and prioritized tactics. The diversity of backgrounds and organization affiliations of the members of the Center led to robust discussions with ultimate agreement that the Center must represent the interests and serve as a collaborative platform of all involved.
