Your WISeR To-Do Checklist

Anesthesia practices should prepare to comply with WISeR requirements. Practices may need to assess their revenue cycle workflows, documentation protocols, and tracking of authorization requests and denials. Here are steps you can take:

•  Subscribe to receive WISeR updates via the WISeR Model listserv.
•   Assess whether your anesthesia services or revenue stream will be impacted by the prior authorization requirements, including the potential impact from delayed payments or claim denials.
•   Review current prior authorization and claims workflows for the selected WiSER services.
•   Monitor MACs and vendor partner guidance to understand technical integration and operational expectations for claim submissions.
•   Update policies and train staff in documentation requirements and appeals processes.
•   Consider consulting legal counsel to review contracts, compliance programs, and dispute resolution strategies.
